Who I Am

Hello, I’m Andrea, and this is the story I never thought I’d have to tell.

I’m 34 years old, the eldest daughter of a single mother and sister to a wonderful young woman who has been my life companion. I was always the one who took care of things, the one who was mindful of everything, the one who put her family first, with a smile, with love, and with the certainty that together we could handle anything.

But in 2022, my life changed completely!

Who
I Am

Hello, I’m Andrea, and this is the story I never thought I’d have to tell.

I’m 34 years old, the eldest daughter of a single mother and sister to a wonderful young woman who has been my life companion.

I was always the one who took care of things, the one who was mindful of everything, the one who put her family first, with a smile, with love, and with the certainty that together we could handle anything.

But in 2022, my life changed completely!

That year I was diagnosed with cervical cancer with metastasis.

I remember the moment I heard it perfectly… Time stopped.

I felt like everything I knew was crumbling, that the ground was disappearing beneath my feet. I didn’t know what to think, what to feel, or how to tell my family that something so serious was happening inside me.

Since then, I have been fighting this disease with all my strength. Every day has been a challenge.

The Treatments

I’ve gone through intense treatments, hospitalizations, painful tests, constant fear.

Every time I have to take tests, it’s a day of anxiety and agony, hoping with all my strength that the results come back well… and yet, here I am, determined to keep going.

We had to leave our small town, where we grew up and built our life, to move to a larger city in search of specialized medical care.
It was an enormous change, not only emotionally, but economically.

Everything costs more: rent, food, transportation, medicines, hospitalizations, tests, treatments.

Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me a little closer to continuing my treatment and, above all, to keep fighting for the life I still have ahead of me.

My mother and my sister, whom I used to help, are now the ones who take care of me, accompany me, give me strength. They have left everything for me. But they can’t anymore—the savings are gone, the debts are growing, and the treatments don’t stop.

That’s why today I write these words with my heart in my hand. Because I need help.

Asking for help isn’t easy, but sometimes life brings us to our knees and teaches us that there are moments when we need to reach out our hand and trust in the kindness of others.
Today I ask you to join me in this fight, to help me keep living, to give me one more chance.

Your support doesn’t just represent financial relief—it represents hope, it represents time. Time to be with my family, to keep dreaming, to keep fighting.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

Thank you for your generous heart. Thank you for being part of this battle that, although difficult, I don’t want to give up on, because I know that my healing is possible, it’s real, and it will be given to me by God above all.

With all my love and gratitude,
